Library Open During Renovation Phase 2

Library Renovation Phase 2 begins Monday, May 21.

The Noreen Reale Falcone Library will remain open and services will continue throughout the summer renovation project starting May 21 until its completion in mid to late August. Here is a link to the hours this summer: http://resources.library.lemoyne.edu/library/hours

The services of checkouts & returns, course reserves (books, films, and anatomy models), part of the dvd collection, and ILL are temporarily relocated to the Library atrium. Library visitors can use computer workstations and tables that are available in the QRC and Student Success Center. The second floor, the entire book collection, special collections and archives, and study rooms will be available.

The librarians will stay in their new office area on the first floor and are available to help students and faculty and staff both in person and online text or chat via http://ask.library.lemoyne.edu/

Inaccessible areas in the Library will be the Muserlian Instructional Lab, the 2nd floor bathrooms, no elevator service from June 13 until about July 25, and the access road to the rear of the Library and the Performing Art Center will remain closed all summer.

Disability Support Services’ temporary summer locations are RH447 for support staff and Foery Hall 105 for Roger Purdy.

The IT Service desk staff of Ranata DeGennaro and her student assistants will operate out of Mitchell Hall in the IT conference room. The Academic Technology group of Royce Robertson, Mark Ramsden, and Roula Creighton will temporarily be in Mitchell Hall room 006.

All telephone extensions remain unchanged for all offices that are remaining in the library this summer and those that have temporary locations in other buildings.

Le Moyne Book Club: June 13

Come join the Le Moyne College Book Club on Wednesday, June 13 as we discuss Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark T. Sullivan. We will be meeting in the Bernat Special Activities Room in the Noreen Reale Falcone Library from 7-8:30 pm. Refreshments will be served!

New Interlibrary Loan Portal

On Monday, May 14, Falcone Library unveiled a new Interlibrary Loan portal that adds new convenience in ordering articles and books from other libraries. The new service will allow you to keep track of all of your requests and receive notices when materials are available.

Some of the major features:

  • Check the status of your requests (new ones, ones awaiting processing).
  • Electronically receive your requested articles.
  • See canceled requests (either ones you have canceled or ones canceled by our ILL staff).
  • Check the history of your past requests (ones that you have received).
  • See all your requests (new, canceled, in process, finished, delivered).
  • See a list of notifications (emails) that you have received for your requests.

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, April 8-14

National Crime Victims Rights WeekTo raise awareness of crime victims, their rights, and respective support and solutions that are available to them, students from professor Alison Marganski’s Victimology course (CJS/SOC 351) will exhibit artifacts such as stuffed animals, toys, and other items that reflect the nature or consequences of victimization in our society.

The display is at the entrance of the Muserlian Instructional Lab on the first floor of Falcone Library.

2018 Le Moyne Annual Student Art Show

April 4 – May 1, 2018

The Wilson Art Gallery located in the Noreen Reale Falcone Library is hosting the Le Moyne Annual Student Art Show starting April 4th and continuing through May 1, 2018. A reception will be held on Friday, April 20th from 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM.

Please join us for a diverse exhibition of student art, including sculpture, painting, drawing and photography. Each reflects the variety of experiences and sources of inspiration of the individuals who created them.

Getting Started With Mendeley Workshop – April 9

Mendeley Logo On , the Library is offering an introductory workshop on using the Mendeley citation management tool. Whether you are new to citation management or coming from RefWorks, this workshop is for you.

The agenda for the hour will be:

  • Creating and logging into a new Mendeley account.
  • Getting oriented to the Mendeley web interface.
  • Techniques for importing citations, including exporting references from legacy RefWorks.
  • Using Mendeley to manage your collection of PDFs.

Workshop is open to all students, faculty, and staff at Le Moyne College. Registration is required. Workshop will be held in the Muserlian Lab in Falcone Library.

We will not be covering the Mendeley desktop client in this workshop. Please let the instructor know if you would attend an advanced topics workshop that will cover Mendeley desktop, Mendeley groups, and more.
