Volunteer to be a Living Book

Do you have a unique life experience you would like to share or a unique perspective the community would benefit from hearing? Are you a member of a group often stereotyped, or misunderstood? Would you like to be a part of this incredible chance for an open dialogue? We are looking for faculty, students, and staff to share their stories and experiences about different cultures, identities, and life experiences. We are looking for Living Books, willing to have conversations with others.

During the Living Library event, to be held on March 18th from 3-6 pm in the Library, you can “check out” Living Books for 20-30 minutes at a time for one-on-one conversations during which you can ask questions and learn from their experiences. This is a dialogue from which everyone can benefit. You can check-out any Living Books which you might like to hear from either on the spot during the event or reserve a check-out period in advance!

To apply to be a Living Book please fill out and submit the Google form by February 29th.

Please feel free to contact Kari Zhe-Heimerman at with any questions.

Write a love letter or breakup letter to the library

Do you love the library or is your relationship with us on the rocks?

Write us a love letter or a breakup letter to let us know how you feel.  If you have mixed feelings, you are welcome to submit one of each.

Letters can be submitted online here or in person at the Library Services Desk.  If you submit a letter in person (either love or breakup), we will thank you for your efforts with a kiss… a Hershey’s kiss, of course.

Come join in on the fun and provide the library with some valuable feedback in the process.
