September 6 – November 10

The Wilson Art Gallery cordially invites our students to the first exhibition and reception of the 2022-2023 season: photographer Marc Safran’s “Performers Offstage and In Studio”. The show opens with a reception on Tuesday, September 6th, 3:30-5pm and there is a talk by Marc Safran scheduled for Thursday, September 22 at 6:30pm in Library (location TBD).

Marc describes this exhibition as showcasing many of the more interesting and compelling subjects he has photographed over the past decade. His work has involved members of numerous dance companies and stage productions, including visiting groups like Cirque du Soleil. While collaborating with the performers of theater, dance, music, fashion, and performance, he works to engage them to create dynamic images that utilize careful lighting and processing.
