RESCHEDULED: Le Moyne Book Club: January 27

Come join the Le Moyne College Book Club on Wednesday, January 27 as we discuss 11/22/63 by Stephen King. We will be meeting in the Bernat Special Activities Room in the Noreen Reale Falcone Library from 7-8:30 pm. Refreshments will be served! This is a new date since the original meeting was canceled due to wintery weather.

RefWorks Outage on January 16

On January 16, 2016, RefWorks will be offline while it is upgrading its systems infrastructure. The outage is scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on Monday, January 16 and will last until 6:00 AM the following morning (8 hours). During this time, access to RefWorks and Write-N-Cite will not be available.

Maria Rizzo : Trees of Onondaga

January 22 – February 19, 2016

The Wilson Art Gallery will host “Trees of Onondaga”, an exhibit of original paintings by Maria Rizzo, whose paintings, inspired by the outdoors, reflect the gratitude she feels for nature and the human connection to it.

Maria Rizzo’s paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the northeast of the United States and abroad, including the ArtRage Gallery in Syracuse, NY; the RSI Bank’s 3rd Annual Artists Contest in Rahway, N.J.; and the Museo d’ Arte Contemporanea di Lissone in Italy. Rizzo is also the recipient of several awards and honors, in addition to the 2014 Individual Artist Commission Grant from CNY Arts, she is the recipient of an Honorable Mention from the RSI Bank’s 3rd Annual Artists Contest in Rahway, N.J., she is the former Artist-in-Residence and Curator at The Tech Garden in Syracuse, New York and she is a 2012 NYFA Mark Alumna. Maria Rizzo was born in Bologna, Italy in 1987.

On Friday, January 22, from 4 to 6 p.m., there will be an opening reception for the exhibit, which will be on display at the Wilson Art Gallery from January 22- February 19 during regular library hours. Snack Break You don’t have to leave the Library for a good cup of coffee anymore. We now have a coffee vending machine that is as good as your own personal barista! The beans are actually ground in the machine after you type your selection, and each cup is brewed fresh. You can choose from espresso, cappuccino, latte, cafe americano or hot chocolate; including different flavors such as cinnamon and caramel. Prices range from $1.25 to $2.25, and the machine takes cash, credit card or ApplePay. Come brew a cup and taste it for yourself — you won’t be disappointed!

 

Eat, Drink and Study All Night in the Library

Snack Break Looking for some snacks to help you get through finals? The Library will provide Cam’s pizza from Sunday, December 13 to Wednesday, December 16 starting at 8 pmand candy all day Thursday and Friday, December 17 and 18, to fuel up your studying on these evenings! Snacks will be put out at 8 pm each evening and will continue while supplies last. Pizza will be replenished several times during the evening.

For those who are looking for a cup of coffee to fuel up, try our new coffee vending machine located by the elevator. You can choose from espresso, cappucinno, hot chocolate and more. It’s like having your own personal barrista to get you through finals!

Additionally, beginning on December 13, the library will remain open 24 hours during finals week. Good luck with finals!
