Feeling stressed out? Spend a little time in the library with a trained therapy dog. There will be a special pet therapy session during finals week on Tuesday, December 15 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. in the Bernat Room. Note the different, extended time.
Pet therapy events are sponsored by Pet Partners of Syracuse.
Looking for some snacks to help you get through finals? The Library will provide Cam’s pizza from Sunday, December 13 to Wednesday, December 16 starting at 8 pmand candy all day Thursday and Friday, December 17 and 18, to fuel up your studying on these evenings! Snacks will be put out at 8 pm each evening and will continue while supplies last. Pizza will be replenished several times during the evening.
For those who are looking for a cup of coffee to fuel up, try our new coffee vending machine located by the elevator. You can choose from espresso, cappucinno, hot chocolate and more. It’s like having your own personal barrista to get you through finals!
Additionally, beginning on December 13, the library will remain open 24 hours during finals week. Good luck with finals!
You don’t have to leave the Library for a good cup of coffee anymore. We now have a coffee vending machine that is as good as your own personal barista! The beans are actually ground in the machine after you type your selection, and each cup is brewed fresh. You can choose from espresso, cappuccino, latte, cafe americano or hot chocolate; including different flavors such as cinnamon and caramel. Prices range from $1.25 to $2.25, and the machine takes cash, credit card or ApplePay. Come brew a cup and taste it for yourself — you won’t be disappointed!
Stop by the Library Services desk to enter the raffle for a free cup of coffee from our new coffee vending machine. Ten winners will be randomly drawn on Friday afternoon — just in time for Finals week! Only one entry per person please.
A new addition to our medical library, The Case Files Collection, is now available here. This eBook collection contains 1169 cases from 23 books. Create a My Access account and get started reading some cases and tracking your progress. Contact Cathy Scott for more information.

November 13 – December 11, 2015
The Wilson Art Gallery will host “Pieces of Me: Heart to Hand”, an exhibit of limited edition archival pigment prints of mixed media collages by Robert Gullie.
On Friday, November 13, from 4 to 6 p.m., there will be an opening reception for the exhibit, which will be on display at the Wilson Art Gallery from November 13 to December 11 during regular library hours. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
Mr. Gullie will also give a guest lecture about his work on Wednesday, November 11 at 7:00 pm in the Reilley Room (4th floor of Reilly Hall). Call the Department of Visual and Performing Arts box office (315) 445-4200 for more information.
Robert Gullie is a photographer, mixed media collagist and printmaker. After years of creating hand tinted photographic prints of collected objects, Gullie has moved to mixed media collage filled with electrified colors and surreal imagery. His exhibit will be archival pigment prints of his collages, enlarged from hi-resolution images for a more dramatic impact.
Gullie’s works are found in numerous collections including The Kinsey Institute, the Albany Medical College and the Francis Kinnear Museum in Lake Luzerne.
