Library Catalog Downtime on January 25

The Library’s catalog and proxy server will be offline on the morning of Tuesday, January 25, beginning at 4:30 am, as the server infrastructure is updated. System downtime could be as much as 6 hours.

While work is performed, the catalog will be unavailable and off-campus access to proxied resources, such as online databases, journals and books, will be interrupted. If you are working on-campus, you can access online resources by removing the proxy server information from the URL. Contact a librarian through our Ask Us service if you have questions.

EDIT: The server work began around 3:30 am and was completed by 4:30 am.

Library Website Maintenance

The Library website will be performing routine maintenance starting at 5:00 am ET on Wednesday December 22, 2021. This will require up to 20 minutes of downtime and will affect the main Library website and the Find Databases page, as well as the appointments and hours of service interfaces. It will not affect the catalog, proxy server or Find Journals page.

The Noreen Reale Falcon Library is now fines free

Overdue fees are a source of social inequity and creates a barrier to the access and use of information. This goes against the library’s mission to provide resources to foster inquiry, knowledge creation, and scholarly communication.

Research has shown that overdue fees are not an effective method of ensuring library materials are returned on time. The Le Moyne community is mindful of others’ needs to access these resources and we feel confident that this change will have little to no effect on when library materials are returned.

Additional Details:

  • Overdue fees will no longer accrue on materials returned after their due date and all existing overdue fees have been waived.
  • The library will still send notices for overdue materials. The first notice will be sent shortly after an item is due and will follow with a second overdue notice if the item is still not returned.
  • The library will eventually charge replacement fees for materials that have not been returned. However, those fees will be waived once the material is brought back and no overdue fees will be charged in its place.

Please direct any questions to the Library Services Desk. You can stop by in person or call 445-4330.

Library Account Login Problem

The College has been experiencing problems with logins to various online services over the past week. The login for accessing your Library Account is also affected and is currently offline. Your Library Account is used to login to subscription resources (online articles, databases, and ebooks) from off-campus and to review due dates of borrowed books and videos.

If you encounter a problem logging into your Library account using the campus computer login method, click the Start Over button and login using the campus ID card method instead.

Use the barcode number method to login.

Note: You can only login with one side of the form at a time. If you have input boxes filled out in both columns, the login will fail, even if everything you entered was correct. Click the Start Over button and try again.

Open Access Week 2021!

This week marks the annual celebration of Open Access Week, organized by SPARC, the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition.

Open Access is a key element in Open Educational Resources (OER).

Take a look at our Le Moyne OER (Open Educational Resources) Guide for more information on how you might locate and use OER, and how Librarians can help!

What is Open Access? Open Access is defined on the Open Access Week page as:

The free, immediate, online access to the results of scholarly research, and the right to use and re-use those results as you need – has the power to transform the way research and scientific inquiry are conducted. It has direct and widespread implications for academia, medicine, science, industry, and for society as a whole.

Please Ask Us any questions on Open Access and OER!

Master Printmaking by the Asociacion de Gradadores de Cuba

These works of art were created between 1949 to 1968 (pre, during, and post Cuban Revolution) as a means to share cultural, political, social, spiritual, and artistic perspectives both domestically & internationally. This exhibition examines various printmaking techniques by Founding Members and other AGC members.

Some works exhibited are also permanently exhibited at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de Cuba (National Museum of Fine Arts of Cuba). Lastly, some works were produced at the Taller Experimental de Grafica located in La Habana (Havana), the oldest print workshop in Cuba founded in 1962, which still operates today.
