Robert Gullie : Pieces of me: Heart to Hand

November 13 – December 11, 2015

The Wilson Art Gallery will host “Pieces of Me: Heart to Hand”, an exhibit of limited edition archival pigment prints of mixed media collages by Robert Gullie.

On Friday, November 13, from 4 to 6 p.m., there will be an opening reception for the exhibit, which will be on display at the Wilson Art Gallery from November 13 to December 11 during regular library hours. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.

Mr. Gullie will also give a guest lecture about his work on Wednesday, November 11 at 7:00 pm in the Reilley Room (4th floor of Reilly Hall). Call the Department of Visual and Performing Arts box office (315) 445-4200 for more information.

Robert Gullie is a photographer, mixed media collagist and printmaker. After years of creating hand tinted photographic prints of collected objects, Gullie has moved to mixed media collage filled with electrified colors and surreal imagery. His exhibit will be archival pigment prints of his collages, enlarged from hi-resolution images for a more dramatic impact.

Gullie’s works are found in numerous collections including The Kinsey Institute, the Albany Medical College and the Francis Kinnear Museum in Lake Luzerne.

Winner of the Candy Corn Challenge

Prayer Dance Project Performance

Prayer Dance Project Adjunct Professor of Dance Ruth Arena and students in the Dance Minor program at Le Moyne present an experience of dance as prayer. Join us on Friday, Nov 13, 5:30 pm. in the Falcone Library atrium as we explore dance as a direct reflection of the soul, as a way to fall in love with the spirit of all things, and as a connection between all humans. Designed to engage with our community, this event aims to encourage reflection, give a peaceful pause in a busy life, and stimulate breath and movement in everyone.

Come early and visit the Opening the Robert Gullie exhibit “Pieces of me: Heart to Hand” in the Wilson Art Gallery in the Library starting at 4:00 pm.

Mark Topp : Here & There

October 9 – November 6, 2015

The Wilson Art Gallery will host “Here & There,” an exhibit of paintings and pastels of landscape and figurative works by Mark Topp.

With little formal art education, Topp studied portraiture while in high school with internationally renowned Syracuse painter, Robert Hofmann, subsequently broadening his portfolio to include landscapes. His cityscapes and portraiture interpreting central New York and Pennsylvania have been exhibited in Syracuse, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. He has also received awards from the Cooperstown Art Association National show (2000) and the Mystic Maritime International (1989).

On Friday, October 9, from 4 to 6 p.m., there will be an opening reception for the exhibit, which will be on display at the Wilson Art Gallery from October 9 to November 6 during regular library hours. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
